Citizen Cope

Citizen Cope

The soothing music of Clearance Greenwood, the singer under the stage name of Citizen Cope, has a voice that seems to tell a story in every well written song released.  His unique combination of folk, blues, and pop makes him one of my top artists to listen when I am looking to relax.   He not only includes good vocals and instrumentals in his music, but a song writing tallent that is what separates him from all the other bands.  With each song comes a unique melody that rarely disappoints.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Clearance Greenwood is almost constantly on tour, building up his fan base.  Although he is one of my favorite musicians, I believe he is not nearly well known enough.  His songs have a way of attracting a wide variety of people with differing musical tastes.
I honestly don't have an restrictions on my recommendation of Citizen Cope since I believe his sound is fairly universally enjoyable.  His best album by far I think is "The Clearance Greenwood Recordings", and anyone who has interest in his music should begin there.

Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder

After spending a small amount of time contemplating which musical artist to review first, the only logical conclusion I could come to would be the great Stevie Wonder.  Having made such a lasting impression on my taste in music, I feel it would only be fitting to begin with the best.  After growing up listening to his music, no single artist can hit so close to my childhood as he does, and I honestly believe that he is the greatest singer that has ever lived.
Mr. Wonder is a Soul/R&B Singer/Songwriter who was born in Michigan.  Although he is blind due to a complication as a baby, he more than makes up for it with a sheer talent at singing, piano, and harmonica that is rarely paralleled.  He has spent his years writing and preforming some of the greatest Soul hits of all time.  His more popular songs include "Superstition", "Living for the City", "Ebony and Ivory", "All I Do", and "Master Blaster", but if unfamiliar with his more obscure work, it's worth checking out songs like "Maybe your Baby", "Blame it on the Sun", and "Boogie on Reggae Woman".  His albums "Fulfillingness" and "Talking Book" are my personal favorite, both of which evoke strong memories with each song.
If Stevie Wonder is a new name to you, I would strongly recommend his music to anyone who enjoys R&B.  When it comes to his genre, Mr. Wonder is at the top of his profession, and even in his recent years, he hasn't slowed down.  His music will last many ages, and I will always categorize him under my favorites.
